EDUCATORS IDENTIFY GANG MEMBERS

Because of the changing demographics of street gangs and their ability to expand, educators need to become aware of how deep the gang influences are in our schools. In order to identify gang members you must have the knowledge of what signs to look for to detect the gang presence. It is also pertinent to rely on a forum, in which answers on gang intervention strategies are achieved in a collaborative discussion arena.

There is now a new era in education and through the use of the Internet, there now exists just such a forum. Through the efforts of Desert Diamond Publishing, a new interactive website has been created for the use of educators and other personnel who deal with gang members and need answers to help combat gang issues in school.

You can reach this new and exciting discussion website by going to this web address: www.gangsinourschools.com, and clicking to the blog-link, where you will find posts and pages which offer strategies on dealing with gang members in the classroom.

Gilbert Cabrera hosts this site on gang intervention strategies for teachers in the classroom, is the author of the new book; Gangs in our Schools An Educators Guide, and is also a teacher. His experience in dealing with gang members in class provides valuable insights into the gang world and is presented to educators in a no-nonsense manner.

Gangs in our Schools An Educators Guide, can be ordered by sending check or money order to P.O. Box 13591, Las Cruces, NM 88013. The price of the book is $19.95 plus $4.00 shipping/handling, payable to Gilbert Cabrera
